From houses to storefronts
Traditionally set in vacant houses set for demolition, Rooms To Let: CLE is using 2022 to again transform spaces in the historic Broadway E 55th neighborhood! Working with local artists and business owners the project will use adapted temporary and semi-permanent art installations to beautify retail storefronts and grass lots.
Additionally, preceding the event weekend, artists, community members, and volunteers will come together for beautification street clean-ups around the Broadway & E 55th intersection.
We invite neighbors to join the effort as an artist or clean up volunteer. Stay tuned for announcements on the Rooms To Let: CLE Facebook page.
Want to participate as an artist?
Artists interested in transforming storefront and lot spaces will be selected by the curators through an open call for artists process which opens in February 2022.
Rooms to Let: CLE offers a unique opportunity for the participating artists to interact with the community, bringing beauty and dialogue around the effects of the foreclosure crisis and how a neighborhood can positively evolve in the aftermath.
