We are working with community partners to assemble a list of updating community resources: HEALTH INFORMATION, FREE MEALS, FOOD BANKS AND DISTRIBUTION, UTILITIES, UNEMPLOYMENT, EMERGENCY LOANS, LEGAL ASSISTANCE, KEEPING THE KIDS BUSY, and MENTAL HEALTH
University Settlement is providing a range of services during this time including:
- Food Pantry grocery pick up, Tuesday – Friday from 11:30 – 2:00
- Hot meal pick-up every Tuesday from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Following news that Governor DeWine ordered a three-week shutdown of Ohio schools, Cleveland Metropolitan School District immediately implemented a plan to continue meal service to all students, similar to the service we provide during summer months.

If you are unemployed, apply for benefits at unemployment.ohio.gov or call (877) 644-6562.
*Unemployment benefits will also be available for eligible individuals who are requested by a medical professional, local health authority, or employer to be isolated or quarantined as a consequence of COVID-19, even if they are not actually diagnosed with COVID-19. In addition, the waiting period for eligible Ohioans to receive unemployment benefits will be waived.
Greater Cleveland Partnership
During this time some may be facing some employment changes and the Greater Cleveland Partnership is looking to help with that!
They have information about employment in the wake of COVID-19, as well as a list of companies in the Greater Cleveland area that are hiring for both temporary and permanent positions. They’ve also created a survey and are interested in learning about how other companies are responding and what challenges have come about due to the virus.

Starting March 17, Legal Aid will only do new client intake online and via phone. Walk-in intake in our Cleveland, Elyria, Painesville and Jefferson offices is suspended until further notice. The March 27 partner training and all neighborhood legal clinics through May 1 are cancelled.

The Cuyahoga County Department of Consumer Affairs and its Scam Squad partners urge county residents to take a few simple steps to avoid and report COVID-19 scams:
· Don’t click on links from sources you don’t know.
· Be suspicious of ads or social media claims about products that can ward off the virus.
· Get updates on COVID-19 from trusted news and official sources.
· Report price-gouging. Report to the attorney general at OhioProtects.org or 1-800-282-0515.
· Avoid pump-and-dump investment schemes.
